English language challenges

My experience learning English in my life has been really simple. It wasn't difficult to me to learn the basics when I was younger and it hasn't been difficult even now. I think that I enjoy the action to learn to communicate in other languages, even if it is not necessary... From Ohayo, Guten morgen, Good morning... to Buenos días.

I remember that my main reason that I learned English was when I was playing video games and got stuck. I searched for a dictionary and searched word by word, decoding what was happening until the moment I finally didn't forget the words and started to translate for fun... and I ended up learning a relatively complete vocabulary which was improved in school and throughout other experiences.

This year I think I've given a few tweaks to my English experience in the university. It have been a grateful experience and it was something new and fun to make videos and blogs.
The aspect that I think I need to improve is the ability to speak fluently without resorting to a repetition of words or hesitations. To improve this, in my opinion, the only way is practicing and overcome it overtime.

Nowadays I use the English language everywhere, not in my house obviously but, on the social network, searching for information, searching a song or a movie, in the television, radio, etc... English has been implanted everywhere and it's just a matter of looking around. It's funny, when someone watches a movie or listens to music, I understand everything that it is said and nobody in my house understands... even the type of music of today.. I'm impressed how bad the lyrics are.

I am surprised that this is the last of the blogs... it was a joy.

My Study Programme

I'm very happy with the subjects I will have to study in my career, especially the laboratories. The Chemistry career have more subjects related to investigation and analytical laboratories, which is the reason I love my career because one of my ambitions is to investigate the things of the world from the smallest part of it to comprehend the magnificence of the entire universe, at least, that is what I think.

My career goes from around 5 years, anyway it is probable to be more than that, because of repeating a subject or extending the thesis of the last year. I think it have the correct lenght and no unnecessary subjects.

Our faculty have a fair size and enough places for the students to study, I'm talking about the CIQ and the library, anyway I would like to have more green areas, places for the students to recreate and a better casino PLEASE. In the other hand, I don't like the university architecture so much but it is 1000 times better than my old school, which looked like a jail.

The teaching methods are the common, ''you sit there, I talk, you hear and learn''.
I don't like that method, I prefer to learn the theory and them practice with people, resolving problems or whatever. In my case, I am horrible learning alone... I need to hear it from someone close to me and exercise with company to learn something at the 100%... Nothing that I'm proud about U.U

Future Summer Holidays

This Summer holidays I would like to visit the beach with my family but I know we don't have the money so this post ends here. Just joking....

In a past post we talked about a significant place we visited in our life. I talked about a little place called La Boca in Navidad that have a river, beach, the river mouth and a lake. I love that place, so full of cliffs and sand and fish everywhere. However, I would like to visit that place again this year with my family or maybe with my friends, but that sounds impossible.

In other hand, some relatives invited me to travel with them this summer, the problem is I don't even know where the F* we will go! LOL. The last vacation we went to Los Vilos, they just suddenly invited me and that was all, that's the reason I don't know where could we go.

In the end, I think the most possible case is to go somewhere with these relatives.
If we go to some beach, I would love to learn how to fish. If that's possible I plan to catch fish and make lunch with that for them. Also, obviously, to swim a lot in the ocean and play some games with my younger companions.

If we go to another place, or maybe the south, it would be madness to me. I can't imagine what kind of things I could find or investigate or travel over there, maybe there could be a nearby forest or a river or if I'm lucky a big fishing pond.

Anyway, nothing is totally confirmed. anything could happen, maybe I cold go with my family to La Boca, but that's doubtful.

Painful Memories

Today I will entertain you with some of my saddest stories about painful falls or bites or burns or....

When I was approximately 11 years old, I was going to visit my aunt at his house, the place where I live now. I was going in my bicycle with my dad and when we were getting closer to the house, in an empty street.
Suddenly, a BIG dog appeared and runned to me barking, the dog looked like it was going to bite me and was getting closer. He caught my leg and bited me really hard, it maked me lose the control of the bike and I crashed violently with a lamppost and the dog runned away.
When we arrived to my aunt house they healed me. The bite didn't make a wound, but talking about the crash, I was full of blood on my knees, ankles and elbows. Anyway, nothing left a mark.

When I was 12 years old. I was in my best friend house, playing video games, eating doritos, etc.., the perfect evening. We decided to go play something in the yard for a moment, and we played on his skateboard. Everything was perfect until the moment I got on the board and went over a puddle. The board slipped and I fell on my wrist.
Later we kept playing guitar hero and occasionally, I felt a short twinges on my hand. That was all....
Sometimes the twinges felt really hard. Weeks later, the twinges continued. I told to my parents, but they did'nt care about it, "It's just nothing" they said.
A month and a half later, on a weekend I was in my aunt house (the place where I live now. Again) and I did'nt wanted to go to the yard because I was afraid of the dogs so she get angry and grab my arm and pulled me hard. JUST in my wrist. I yelled and in just seconds my wrist was purple and swollen. She called my mom with the phone cursing because nobody believed in me and we went to the hospital :) My wrist was broken in two points so they plastered my arm and it was fun.

I couldn't move my hand because the twinges at this time long, were further than ever, and obviously, because of the plaster I couldn't move it. Anyway, I kept playing video games.

One has priorities, you know.

Postgraduate Studies

How can we know? There are another 5 (or more) years to end the career... Anyway, anything could happen in that time but, I wish to never stop learning things so I know I will anything to complement my career knowledge.

If I want to continue learning things that will help me in my future job I would prefer to do it outside of this country, I hope it could be in Germany or the UK where the principal scientific advances are born.

I would like to study something about nanotechnology that can complement my chemistry knowledge, because I think that nanotech is the future of science advances and has always interested me a lot.

I would like to work and do the postgrade at the same time if possible, because we need money to live, specially if you are in another country and everything call your attention to buy *^*
I would like to go study outside, but with my couple, if it is not possible I will reject the possibility until she can go with me.

If I stay in Chile (I don't want) I think I will study something about minery to try to improve the production of the country,anyway, that's the only really productive aspect in Chile.

Finally, we don't know what kind of technology will be important in the future, but if I it is mixable with chemistry, postgrades will appear, and definitely it will be productive and useful to the world

My future job

I don't know exactly what kind of job I'll have in the future, but have some in my mind.

What about a scientist job? to be a chemistry scientist is like my goal, but unfortunately, that's not very suitable in this country... the science in Chile is not in the mind of the government, or at least, not as much as I would like. In that case, we would have surely more industries in the technology and purification of our copper to improve our economy and natural resources and less malls everywhere and unusefull investments.

To be a scientist or a researcher is what I'm looking forward to do. I imagine it like a dream. I could improve the health of the people, could improve the economy of my country, work in an important project to help others or even help the entire globe, you never know what could happen in the future.

Being that kind of researcher sometimes means you have to go outside of your city or country. I don't like too much that idea, but if I can go with my partner there will be no problem. In that case I wont have the tiniest problem to go anywhere to the end of the world, anytime.

About the salary, this kind of job grants a good income. At least in more developed countries... Chile needs to improve a bit that aspect. I want to have a life without worries about money, for me and my family and don't have the same economical problems I had when I was younger.. So I would like a rather good salary.

I don't want to stop learning things in the future. Maybe when I have enough money I'll study another career and mix my knowledge of both. Maybe chemistry and nanotechnology. That would be stunning. I will never stop learning things in my life, if that happens I will be dead.

My Favorite Food

Like I said in the last post, I'm usually alone in my house, so I have to cook from time to time or in case I feel lazy about it, go to eat somewhere else.
When I'm alone in the house, something that I love to cook is Pasta.. I love it. Why? because you can mix it with nearly every other thing: eggs, meat, mincemeat, burger, cheese, fish, sauces, etc..

I like to cook it with eggs or burger, because that's the common ingredients in my house, but when I have the ingredients needed I make wonders. My finest meal with pasta has to be PESTO PASTA!

Every time I can cook it I do it, and it's not about just cook it, it's about feel it and enjoy making it, from the search of the bests ingredients to the ecstasy of eating it. If I had to cook for a date I would cook this. Don't know, just love it from as far I can remember.

I don't live with my parents and I'm very independent but the only pleasant memories I have about pesto pasta is when my mom cooked it for me loooong ago when I was just a lil' brat. That and the memory of eating it.

I eat a lot of pasta, like 15 days in the month, reason I have "mastered" it.

And when I'm going to eat in a restaurant, I like to eat sushi.

I like every kind of it, specially tempura's and, I like to eat a lot, around 20 to 30 pieces, sometimes when I'm celebrating something I eat more. I don't like to go eating alone so usually I go with friends or family.

What sort of meal do you like?

HOBBIES

What's better than hobbies? I mean, things you like to do in your free time. Things you won't dislike to do, nearly, the entire day.

The common ones are to listen to music, play video games, watch TV (that sounds really boring...), Cook, go shopping, gardening and... hey! whatever, everyone knows what they like.

What do I like to do? Hmmm that's a tricky one... Let me see, what do I do when I'm free?

Listen to music meanwhile playing video games on the cellphone meanwhile watching videos in the internet (when the neighbor signal is enough to reach my house..) and also, I love to cook.

I'm alone in my house most of the time and don't have internet connection (like i said above) so, I try to connect meanwhile I'm doing other things. When (finally) I'm connected it's the moment of my hobbie: Watch anime, series, YouTube videos and listen to music. this has been my hobbie for about two or three years.

It's not that that's the only thing I do, I also study every moment I'm not on the hobbie, and every moment the connection allows me to do so.

Another hobbie is investigate about: "whatever-that-catch-my-attention", considering I'm more curious than a 8 years old kid...

But what I loved to do, nearly my entire life, from my very first memory has been playing video games, old ones, new ones, phone, computer, physical ones, everything. Maybe if fathers taught their kids to study like a game this world could be much better. When I'm with my friends in the university and everyone is in free-time we usually play cards outside the octagon.

But video games have the stunning victory in my hobbies list. I had my first console at an age I can't even remember, like two years old, it was an "atari", later I had a "Nintendo" (NES), later it was a "Super Nintendo" (SNES). Then, in a birthday... I think like 5 years, I was walking with my dad in the open market ("persa"), there was a Playstation one (PSX) at a REALLY cheap price, like $10.000 Pesos and it included like 30 games... you can guess the rest of the story. My mom liked to give away things that aren't of her property. She give away MY consoles to younger cousins and well... stupid little critters don't know how to care about valuable things...

The PSX was the one I enjoyed the most, played entire days entire years with my best friend. Finally, when I was 12-13 years old I received the PlayStation 2 (PS2) and was my last console till now, well, untill about two or three years. Yes. The same stupid little critter-cousin broke my PSX and PS2 and that was the end of the hobbie... Anyway, I'm still pretty good, (It's the least you could ask for something you've done all your life) and love to play with friends....

Someday, when I have enough money I will buy an SNES, repair the PS2. the PSX was given away so nothing to do. And well, do something about it ;)

My best holidays

It was when I was really younger, when I lived whit my parents, when I still didn't knew any bad in the world... It was a really nice place, and was called "La Boca" in a little community called "Navidad" in the VI Region.
I visited La Boca three times I think, but always whit my parents in summer days. We always stay in rent in the house of an elderly woman who knew my dad and always around fourteen days.

The principal economic activity was the amateur fishing and a little agriculture And the population was only around five hundreds people. It was a really simple life where you didn't even have to worry about a single thing.

Why is so special? 'Cause the environment. Around the place you could find a forest, the beach, a river, the river mouth and a lake.

In this place you can find a variety of flora and fauna, near the river live black-necked swans and domesticated cows and horses.

I learned to swim in this place, on the sea actually, this is one reason I love this place.

Things I liked to do was go to the beach, watch of the adults where fishing, go to the open market, eat a lot of fish and hit the arcade and play hours...

From another angle

At that time in was a cheap and nice place to go... and then, I haven't went anymore on vacations again. It's clear that I want to go again.

I think it's clear that this place have some sentimental value to me and that's why I choose it to talk about.

Well... It was nice to remember all this... I hope that you also have a special place as much as this was for me.

Someday, alone or accompanied by someone special, we will visit this place again, and will be even more special...

A country I'd like to visit

A country I'd like to visit? What can I say? I like cold and calm places, so, it has to be definitely Moscow , in Russia, it's not that i knew everything about the countries in the world but, it looks surely fine to me (not even care about the calm part). I can choose only one so, better start saying something about that place.
Russia is a BIG and cold place where the temperature oscillates between, because of the big area, from -71,2°C to 30°C. It is the bigger country in the world, with more than 17 millions of square kilometers in area, that's the ninth of the planet area.
The population of the country is the ninth more populated country in the world with more than 146 millions persons and the economy is also pretty badass today and one of the biggest GDP in the planet.

This country was involved in the world wars, and was recognized as a superpower, have some of the biggest technological advancements in the world and energetic production. A place perfect to investigate, perfect for scientists. Perfect for me.

Anyway, what about the touristic places? IT'S AWESOME! Moscow! 

Just Look at that baby. That building in the center is the Kremlin, and that place exactly, is the Red Square, the place whit more touristic interest.
Well... everything, not only the touristic places, I'm talking about the entire country and his atributes, I like it, it's a perfect place to even live in.

I dont even care about the cold, to me, THIS place is one of that "places-you-have-to-visit-before-u-die"
